about

Mahi’ai Creative is a Big Island based studio providing photography, graphic design, and video production to non-profits and public agencies. Founders Keith Tallett and Sally Lundburg are committed to the preservation and examination of Hawaii’s unique culture and environment, and explore issues in artful and thought provoking ways. Their interest and passion for the ocean, land and community inform both their commercial and independent work.

Keith teaches drawing and painting at The University of Hawaii at Hilo, as well as being a tattoo practitioner and second generation surfboard shaper. Sally is an artist, photographer and fllmmaker, and both she and Keith exhibit their artwork in galleries and museums. Surrounded by the natural beauty and abundance of the Hamakua Coast, many mornings are spent hauling their surfboards and small daughter Kia'i to remote surf spots. They live and work in Paauilo Mauka on their family farm where they grow taro and vegetables, propagate native trees, and work in their studio.

Sally holds a Bachelors of Fine Arts from the San Francisco Art Institute. Keith holds a BA from The University of Hawaii at Hilo, and a Masters of Fine Arts from the San Francisco Art Institute.
